BBC Radio 3 Broadcast Nu Civilisation Orchestra &BBC Concert Orchestra play 'Symphonic Ellington'

Last weekend the Nu Civilisation Orchestra joined forces with the BBC Concert Orchestra to perform extended works from the 'Symphonic Ellington' canon under the direction of conductor Michael Seal. We played to a full house at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre. For me it was a particularly unique experience as I was given the opportunity perform a piano featured work with orchestra (New World A-Comin') and conducted my orchestral arrangement of Billy Strayhorn's 'Chelsea Bridge'. It was a memorable experience and something I hope to do more of in the future.

The whole concert was recorded by BBC Radio 3 and includes a superb 'Jazz Generation' world premiere commission from Misha Mullov-Abbado.

Do tune in tonight for the broadcast or at your own leisure online.
