After last week's successful performance of 'The Stuart Hall Project: Live' at the London Jazz Festival, there is an opportunity to see another film screening with live soundtrack but this time the music will be my own.
The British Film Institute, in association with Tomorrow's Warriors Live, has commissioned me to write a new score to a 1925 silent movie entitled 'Body and Soul'. The film was written and directed by Oscar Micheaux and features Paul Robeson in his motion picture debut.
This is also my debut as a film composer and I'm tremendously excited to be performing the world premiere of my new score live with the Nu Civilisation Orchestra Ensemble. Tickets are on sale now.
The screening and performance will take place on Monday 05 December 7:00pm at BFI Southbank and is part of BFI's Black Star season.
