On the 29 August I had the great privilege of directing my first prom at the Albert Hall. We performed a very special selection from Duke Ellington's master work ' The Sacred Concert'. On stage was the Nu Civilisation Orchestra, The BBC singers and Carleen Anderson's UK Vocal Assembly. We had jazz piano legend Monty Alexander and phenomenal tap dancer Annette Walker join us on stage for what became a fantastic celebration of Duke Ellington's music.
